On December 16, 2025, Jesse’s Law took a step we had been working toward for months. With the support of Senator Jo Comerford and Representative Homar Gómez, the bill was officially filed in both chambers of the Massachusetts Legislature.
In the Senate, it was filed as SD.3452. In the House, as HD.5398. Seeing those docket numbers for the first time was a strange mix of grief and relief. Our son’s name is now attached to legislation that could save someone else’s life.
Filing is not the same as passing. We know that. But it moves Jesse’s Law into the formal process: rules review, potential admission, committee assignment, and hearings. It means the state has to look at what happened to Jesse and decide what it expects from people who witness the next emergency.
