Change.org petition launched

On June 8, 2025, we finally did what we had been waiting to do for two years. We launched the “Pass Jesse’s Law” petition on Change.org. In that petition, we spelled out what happened to Jesse and named the gap in Massachusetts law that allowed people to do nothing while he lay dying.

For the first time, we asked people beyond our immediate circle to stand with us in changing the law. We described Jesse’s Law in simple terms: if you see someone in a life‑threatening medical emergency or serious injury, you must call 911 unless it would put you in danger. That’s it. No heroics. Just a duty to call for help.

Clicking “publish” on that petition was terrifying and necessary. It was our first open step toward turning Jesse’s story into a legal change that might protect someone else.
